The Associate Creative Director Copy (ACD), whether art or copy focused, should have a proven ability to lead a brand, understanding its creative vision beyond day-to-day assignments. Creatively, they should have a thorough knowledge of the digital landscape and best practices as well as a real passion for conceptual thinking that can be manifested in any creative form. The ability to guide, inspire and manage other creative teams is essential. The ACD team will be expected to be the face of the agency to clients when necessary. They will also work closely with Planning, Strategy, Account and Project management.
For this assignment the ACD will report directly to the Group Creative Director (GCD) and be expected to bring energy and a spark the overall group.
Creative Role & Responsibilities
- Owns creativity, consistency and quality of agency output on assigned programs of work
- Thinks innovatively, consistently bringing new ideas appropriate to our clients’ marketing strategy and brand tone with a focus on driving results and brand goals
- Understands the “big picture” and uses that knowledge to strategically guide the programs of work assigned
- Drives creative team to explore various extensions of campaign in tactical execution
- Masters presentation skills with the goal of selling great work through storytelling
- Continues to learn, is open to feedback and willing to explore further if necessary
- Supports planning and strategy in the development of creative or project briefs
- Participates in the evolution of brand personality and positioning
- Has an innate world curiosity, actively keeping in tune with popular culture, being aware of trends, brands and technologies and how they impact our business and culture in general
- Contributes to the daily execution of the workload
- Able to contribute to weekly resource allocation/management process
- Maintains awareness of budget requirements to ensure the best visualization of the product while staying within budget limits. Clearly calls out when work presented is beyond budget
- Responsible for ensuring team maintains version and quality control of assets through lifecycle of projects overseen
- Responsible for ensuring team follows
- Either leads or participates in day-to-day efforts on a pitch team, may attend pitches,
- May participate in brand planning efforts

- Able to concept and create for multiple channels (print, digital, broadcast etc.)
- Has strong presentation skills and understands client management and creative negotiation
- Ability to oversee others executing multiple projects and independently manage complex projects assigned
- Exhibits decisive problem-solving skills
- Ability to understand timelines and proposed budgets and provide actionable feedback
- Actively maintains an understanding of how work moves through the agency. Follows relevant agency Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) and makes sure assigned teams are also following agency requirements
- Understands the principles of production (print, online, broadcast etc.)
- As required, participates in print shoot/video/broadcast productionsRelationships/Supervisory Role
- Viewed as a leader by his or her core team. Becomes a trusted partner to account, strategy and project management counterparts
- Collaboratively work with assigned partners
- Supervises and engages team/freelancers, helping ensure the success of the whole team
- Responsible for training, reviewing and mentoring direct reports
- Works with GCD to set priorities and manages workloads so assignments for team are completed within agreed to timeframes
